Education | Art Trunks

The Museum’s Art Trunks program is an educational program involving innovative, project making art kits available to educators across the State of Mississippi. The self-contained units relate to the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art’s permanent collections and each unit contains examples, educator guides and art materials for up to 30 students. There are six Art Trunks to Choose from: Printmaking, Native American Basket-Making, African-American Heritage, Working with Color, Mississippi Artist Ethel Wright Mohamed (Needlepoint) and Mississippi Artist Walter Anderson (Watercolor). LRMA Art Trunk lessons are easily incorporated into other curriculum, or an easy way for any educator to expose their students to art–and they are fun!

Art Trunks are available to check out for a two week period and are free of charge (return postage may be required if Art Trunk is mailed). For more information or to request an Art Trunk, contact Kelly Rosa, at krosa@LRMA.org,or call (601) 649-6374.
