Artist Conversation: Identity and Response

Friday, March 5, 2021

4:00 p.m. CST

Please join us for a conversation with the curators and artists whose work is featured in Identity and Response: Works by African-American Artists.  This exhibition features works created by Black artists over a span of more than 80 years that come from the Museum’s permanent collection and the personal collection of local artist and guest curator Michael Ross, as well as art produced by Ross. The Museum’s Curator of Collections and Exhibitions, Kristen Miller Zohn, will moderate the discussion, Ross will give us insight into the thought processes that went into putting the exhibition together, and the artists will talk about their paintings and mixed media works that are on display.

This virtual program is presented live via Zoom. The online “waiting room”* opens at 3:45 p.m. CST, and the lecture will begin at 4:00 p.m. CST.  Participants can submit questions via the chat feature.

Please register below to be emailed a link to join this Zoom program, which will be recorded.
