Unraveling the Secret Quilt Codes

According to legend, safe house along the Underground Railroad were often designated by a quilt hanging from a clothesline or windowsill. These quilts were embedded with a kind of code, shapes and motifs sewn into the design that delivered critical messages to enslaved people on the run. Join us to learn more about this fascinating piece of history and create your own secret quilt patch. Beginners welcome and all supplies included.
