CLASSICAL | Mike Boyd

Friday, March 4th
ELECTRIC BLUES | Ra’Shad the Blues Kid

The welcome sign entering the great state of Mississippi proudly reads “Birthplace of America’s Music.” That music is the blues. Evolving from the sad songs of slaves, the blues birthed all other popular genres – from R&B and rap to pop and country.

Although this genre is the oldest in the country, it is kept alive and well through the music of modern-day bluesman like Ra’Shad The Blues Kid. He is groomed in the same breeding grounds as musical greats as diverse as Muddy Waters, Bobby Rush, Elvis Presley and opera star Leontyne Price.

And with party-starting singles such as his 2017 debut “Shake It Baby” featuring J Wonn, and “Go Get It” featuring LJ Echols, Ra’Shad The Blues Kid is quickly adding his name to the long list of celebrities who came before him.

Friday, April 1st
